COURSE DETAILS
The Balya Race is a unique challenge course in which athletes complete a series of physical tasks one after another, where strength, agility, and coordination are just as important as speed.
1. Hay Bale Carry – 150 m
Athletes must transport a hay bale using a wheelbarrow for 150 metres to complete the stage. This is followed by a 1-kilometre run.
2. Jumping – 40 m
On a specially designed section created along the spectator stands of Akyaka Stadium, athletes complete a 40-metre jumping course through a series of hay bales. After completing the stage, athletes continue with another 1-kilometre run.
3. Wall Ball – Target Throw
Athletes throw a specially prepared ball made from a hay bale at a target approximately 2 metres high. After successfully hitting the target, the athlete proceeds to the next challenge.
4. Burpee Jump
In this stage, male athletes must complete 20 jumps over the hay bales, while female athletes must complete 10 jumps. This is followed by a 1-kilometre run.
5. Sand Bucket Carry
Athletes carry two sand buckets for 150 metres and then proceed to the finish line to complete the entire course.
The goal of the Balya Race is not simply to be the fastest; it is to overcome every challenge and make it to the finish!
